ICSR Seminar: Dr. David Kilcullen on Counterinsurgency
Speaker:Dr David Kilcullen
Dr. David Kilcullen, author of The Accidental Guerrilla, is one of the world's most influential experts on counterinsurgency and modern warfare. A former lieutenant colonel in the Australian army, with field experience of insurgencies across the globe, he is now a senior advisor to the US Government.
Kilcullen has been instrumental in the formation of the US strategies in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was formerly Chief Strategist in the Office of the Coordinator for Counterterrorism in the US State Department, and Senior Counterinsurgency Adviser to the Multi-National Force in Iraq. As a senior member on the personal staff of Gen. Petraeus, he is regarded as one of the chief architects of “the Surge”.
Dr. Kilcullen will discuss his latest book, Counterinsurgency, which is published by Hurst and Co.
